Madalena & Rodrigo | Vila Nova de Milfontes, Odemira

 A Madalena e o Rodrigo são radicais. Isso mesmo leram bem. Esse adjectivo tão old school que transforma o fixe em algo ainda mais fixe. O casamento foi uma lufada de ar fresco apesar de ter sido o dia mais quente do ano, e até agora não houve nenhum tão quente apesar de o verão ainda não ter acabado. Não só são tão novos e apaixonados, mas também decidiram embarcar na aventura de organizarem o casamento eles mesmos, no jardim da sua própria casa. Um casamento DIY mas ainda assim com tantos detalhes, demonstra o melhor que a juventude portuguesa tem e daquilo, que apesar de todas as dificuldades, somos capazes de fazer. Todos os detalhes serviram para contar a sua história ao longo do dia, e os padrinhos e madrinhas foram os mais empenhados em demonstrar a sua amizade pelos noivos. Um dia cheio de crianças e gargalhadas, denotou a importância que os sobrinhos têm para a Madalena e para o Rodrigo. A comida toda feita e organizada pelo irmão do noivo durante todo o dia foi mais uma prova da dedicação dos familiares e amigos. Um dia cheio de surpresas espontâneas (que por vezes foram tão difíceis de acompanhar mas que ainda assim me deixaram toda cheia de sorrisos), desde uma surpresa muito melódica à saída da Igreja e um Harlem Shake tão espontâneo durante o jantar, a um rap majestoso de parte dos padrinhos e a uma dentada bem doce já tão dentro da noite foram tudo coisas que valeram para contar a sua história, a frescura da sua relação e o amor a quem quiseram que estivesse presente para testemunhar a união que vai resumir o resto das suas vidas.

Obrigada Madalena e Rodrigo por me quererem presente e por confiarem em mim para documentar o vosso dia, obrigada Sofia Pinto Leite por seres a minha segunda fotógrafa e um fantástico apoio emocional e físico (com o leque sempre tão a jeito!) e obrigada aos padrinhos e madrinhas pela boa disposição e por nos tratarem como amigas! Desejo-vos o melhor do mundo, sempre! Um brinde gigante a vocês!

Madalena and Rodrigo are rad. Yeah, you read that well. That old school adjective that transforms the cool into something even cooler. The wedding was a breath of fresh air even though it took place in the hottest day of the year, and up until now there wasn't any hotter day even though the summer is not yet over. They are not only young and in love, but they also decided to embark in the adventure of organizing the wedding themselves, in their backyard. A start-to-end DYI wedding but still full of details, showing the best in portuguese youth and, despite all difficulties, what we are in fact capable of doing. Every single detail served to tell their story throughout the day, and the wedding party was the most committed in showing their love for the couple. A day full of children and laughter, denoted how important the nephews and nieces are for them. The food all made and organized by the groom's brother showed once more the dedication of family and friends. A day full of last minute surprises (that at times were a bit hard to keep up with, but always left me full of smiles still), from a very melodic surprise right outside the church to a very spontaneous Harlem Shake in the middle of the wedding dinner, to a majestic rap from the groomsmen to a very sweet bite already late in the night, were all things that served to tell their story, the freshness of their relationship and the love for those who they wanted to have present to bear witness of the union which will resume the rest of their lives. 

Thank you Madalena and Rodrigo for wanting me present and for trusting in me to document your day, thank you Sofia Pinto Leite for seconding me and for the fantastic emotional and physical support (with the hand fan always so handy and most welcome!) and thank you groomsman and bridesmaids for being so full of geniality and for treating us like friends! I wish you the best in the world, always!
